Chill Off Licences is one of Northern Ireland's leading independent drinks retailers. With five locations across the Derry/Londonderry area, they have served the North-West from 2003. With a huge offline business, they took the strategic decision to create an enhanced e-commerce website - winebychill.com to deliver premium wines, spirits and beers to customers all across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.
Process
Working alongside the leadership team of the organisation we developed a full e-commerce website within the WooCommerce framework. This was chosen to provide the robust, agile and growing needs of the business. Developing the front end we followed our process of user understanding, design and then development.
Being an established business, there are certain systems that are wholly integrated across the business functions. The ERP and till systems in this project are intrinsically linked across all stores. With the new website we worked directly with the systems' integrator to ensure the new website communicated directly with the ERP and provided real-time data on stock levels.
Following an analytics review, a high percentage of site visitors are browsing on their mobile devices. We were further engaged to create an AMP version of the site to ensure the most efficient mobile experience possible for these users.
Output
The creation of the Wine By Chill Brand and E-Commerce website has provided the business with an opportunity to develop markets far beyond their traditional business area. This new sales channel has continued to develop and grow from launch with support on digital marketing across a suite of channels.
As the business develops, we have been tasked with further development projects to support the sales and marketing functions.
