Horse Racing Ireland

Working with Horse Racing Ireland since 2018, we have supported many digital activities across the organisation. Our studio has created broadcast quality video production, digital newsletter marketing designs and full ad suites for PPC and Social advertising. We are regularly tasked with the creation of new additions to their online presence.

The shown project here is with regard the creation of the Horse Racing Ireland Fixtures List and calendar design. This project was created to compliment the printed fixtures list. It was also created to provide enhanced fixture listings and information for those looking to find out more about horse racing in Ireland.

With such a broad stakeholder remit, we needed to ensure that all relevant information was displayed in a suitable manner. Looking closely at the analytics and user journey, we were able to determine a robust flow and engaging design to meet the majority of usage. We drafted flat wireframes for all pages and presented expected interactions that users might have within each page. On approval of our wireframe, we worked within the brand guidelines to create a design framework. This framework could be used across every listing and racecourse in a highly flexible manner.

Finalising the designs we worked directly with the Horse Racing Ireland in-house development teams to provide direction as the designs were translated into code.

Our fixture listings are some of the most visited pages on the Horse Racing Ireland website. These pages are used by hundreds of thousands of people annually, providing information on upcoming race meetings and the racecourses hosting these. Simplicity was key and this has been achieved across all website designs.
